Le Marais

Le Marais – Antique-Inspired French Oak Flooring for Luxury Interiors

Le Marais is our signature collection of French-style oak flooring, created for high-end residential and hospitality projects around the world. Using a subtle combination of hand-finishing and controlled machine-aging, we give new European oak the refined, timeworn character of an 18th‑century French floor – while keeping the stability, performance and consistency that modern projects demand.

Each plank is aged, then stained to a warm, sophisticated brown tone that works beautifully with contemporary, transitional and classic interiors. Finally, the boards are finished twice with an oil–wax system to enhance the grain and provide reliable protection against stains and everyday wear.

Designed with interior designers and architects in mind

We have many years of experience working with interior designers, architects and design-build firms on bespoke oak flooring for projects in the United States, the UK, Europe and beyond. From penthouses in New York and Los Angeles to boutique hotels in London or Dubai, Le Marais is designed to slot seamlessly into your design and specification workflow.

Our background in antique and reclaimed oak floors informs every detail of this collection. We understand what designers love about original French floors – the calm, elegant patina, the refined wear, the subtle color shifts – and we translate that knowledge into a reliable, repeatable product you can specify with confidence project after project.

Why Le Marais instead of reclaimed French oak?

Genuine reclaimed French oak flooring has become increasingly scarce, highly fragmented in supply and often priced at a premium that is difficult to justify for many projects. Quality can be unpredictable: irregular thicknesses, structural issues, old nail holes and hidden defects are common and can cause delays on site.

With Le Marais, we offer an antique-inspired French oak floor that captures the look and feel of historic material, but with:

  • New, structurally sound oak with consistent grading and sizing.
  • Controlled, repeatable aging and color from batch to batch.
  • Formats and dimensions tailored to modern installation methods.
  • Export-ready packaging and documentation for international projects.

The result is a best-of-both-worlds solution for designers who want the romance of an old French floor, without the risk and unpredictability of reclaimed wood.

Formats: planks, herringbone, chevron and Versailles panels

To support a wide range of design languages and scales, the Le Marais French oak flooring collection is available in multiple formats:

  • Wide planks – understated and timeless, perfect for open-plan living spaces and hospitality environments.
  • Herringbone parquet – a classic pattern that brings rhythm and movement to both traditional and contemporary interiors.
  • Chevron parquet – the European favorite (often chosen for upscale apartments and townhouses), adding a sharper, more directional feel than herringbone.
  • Versailles panels – highly exclusive parquet panels, inspired by historic French châteaux floors and crafted with authentic mortise-and-tenon joints.

Our Le Marais Versailles panels are available at € 425 per panel, offering a statement solution for grand entrance halls, formal salons, dining rooms and signature hospitality spaces.

Underfloor / radiant heat compatibility

For projects with hydronic or electric radiant heat, we recommend the 15 mm engineered Le Marais construction. When properly installed and commissioned, it offers excellent stability and comfort over underfloor heating systems commonly used in high-performance homes and luxury condos worldwide.

The 20 mm solid oak option remains an excellent choice for traditional substrates and renovation projects where radiant heat is not required.
